Community as a Workplace Strategy: From occupancy to connection. From activity to business impact

MixCollage-14-Sep-2026-10-41-AM-4594

As hybrid working continues to reshape the workplace, organisations are facing a fundamental question: how do we create workplaces that people genuinely want to be part of?

Simply increasing office attendance is no longer the answer. People come to the workplace for connection, collaboration, culture and a sense of belonging. This makes community management an increasingly important part of workplace strategy — and potentially a driver of organisational value.

But what is the business value of community? Can stronger communities improve collaboration, employee experience and workplace utilisation? And how do we move beyond events and activities to create lasting social capital?

In this panel discussion, we explore the evolving role of community management and its place at the intersection of people, place and purpose.

We will challenge who should own community, how community managers can become strategic workplace partners, and whether their impact can — and should — be measured.

Can community become a competitive advantage?
